The episode focuses on the wedding of Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), which is attended by Nate’s parents, Cal (Dane) and Marsha (Paula Marshall). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a disease of the nervous system that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, according to the Mayo Clinic. It leads to muscle weakness, and a common symptom is slurred speech.
Following Dane’s death, Levinson shared a statement shared with Hollywood Reporter“I am saddened by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift. Eric’s family is in our prayers. May his memory be blessed.”
