Tamil Nadu Elections 2021 and NDA Alliance Performance
In the 2021 elections, the AIADMK contested 191 seats and won 66 seats, while the BJP contested 20 seats and PMK 23 constituencies, winning 4 and 5 seats respectively. The AIADMK is witnessing a weak phase since the death of its popular leader, Jayalalithaa, in 2017.
However, BJP Tamil Nadu in-charge and Union Minister Piyush Goyal shared the alliance’s confidence in sweeping the Tamil Nadu elections just as it did in Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar and Delhi.
He also added that the people of Tamil Nadu want a good government to bring development and changes in the state. Adding to the assertion, PKR leader Anbumani Ramadoss said: “We are very confident of our victory. PKR has got 18 seats plus one seat for SP; we are happy, our goal is to dislodge the anti-people DMK regime.”
