New Delhi: Pakistani Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization should not lose sight of cross-border “state-sponsored” terrorism as there is no place for any “double standards” in combating this threat, in a clear reference to Pakistan’s support for various terrorist groups.

Addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference in Bishkek, Singh said India had shown its “steadfast resolve” during Operation Sindoor that “terror centers are no longer immune from justifiable punishment.”
“We must not lose sight of cross-border state-sponsored terrorism that attacks the very sovereignty of the state,” he said.
“There is no place for double standards, and the SCO should not hesitate to seek appropriate action against those who instigate, harbor and provide safe haven to terrorists,” Singh said.
The Minister of Defense called for coordinated global efforts to combat terrorism.
“We also face a growing challenge in the form of extremism, radicalism and terrorism. Terrorism has become the most serious threat to the emerging world order.”
“It is against this background that the SCO emerged as an organization based on our common values. The SCO condemned such actions and ideologies in a joint fight against terrorism,” he added.
The Defense Minister also touched on the current geopolitical turmoil.
He said that the world today faces a reality test represented by increasing unilateralism and conflicts.
He added that the series of conflicts that occurred over the past few years led to the loss of lives and valuable property at an alarming pace.
“As those responsible for defense and security, it is time for us to reflect and take effective measures to address this situation,” he noted.
