Trump aide Harmeet Dhillon posted on social media whether women could replicate the dress they wore to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after the shooter was arrested.
Harmeet Dhillon, an aide to President Donald Trump of Indian origin, who was present at the White House dinner where the shooting took place targeting administration officials, made some jokes that were not received well by the majority of social media users.
The Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division asked whether women at this event could replicate their outfits at another event. “Every woman at last night’s event wondered if they could repeat this outfit for a re-encore, or use it at another red carpet event…because was it really ‘important’?” Dillon posted on X from her personal account. The post sparked mixed reactions as many did not like the way Dillon highlighted the situation and thought many shared her sense of humor and said they were thinking the same way.

One user wrote: “This post from you disappoints me. I agree that people out there probably think that since everything is fine, but some things don’t belong on social media and are better left to your close friends. I’ve lost some professional respect for you now.”
From the same account, Dillon also shared her look from the event. But she announced on her official account that she had received a bruise on her head from the Secret Service, running across their tables and chairs while bending under the Washington Post table.
“The Secret Service was very impressive last night, racing through the very crowded room to secure the scene. Everyone was calm and followed their orders to get down and out of the way. It could have been a lot worse.”
I am thankful every day for law enforcement!” Dillon wrote, thanking the Secret Service. The shooter, Cole Thomas Allen, told police he was pursuing “administrative officials” at the event held inside the Washington Hilton Hotel where he was staying.
