Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave a fiery reply to Praful Hinge, turning their previous feud upside down in a dramatic manner during the IPL 2026 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The last time the two faced off, Hinge had taken complete control of the contest. He dismissed Sooryavanshi for a golden duck and went on to take four wickets, earning the man-of-the-match award. Speaking after that match, Heng made his intention clear. “The best was Suryavanshi’s first wicket, because he was in good form. I had already told some people that I would get him out off the first ball, either with a bouncer or some way.
“I just wanted his wicket on the first ball,” he said.

But this time the narrative was immediately flipped.Opening the innings, he faced Sooryavanshi Hinge in the first over and unleashed a brutal counter-attack. He tore through the pace, smashing four successive sixes to completely seize the momentum. It ended at 25 without loss, with Sooryavanshi racing to 24 off just five balls. The attack was relentless. The hinge variations and lengths did not make much difference as the Sooryavanshi maintained its shape and removed the ropes frequently.
Whether it was a good long pass or a shorter ball, the score remained the same, with the ball going out of bounds. The sequence of sixes not only erased memories of the previous act, but also set the tone for the innings.Sooryavanshi carried that momentum forward and went on to rack up a half-century in just 15 balls during the power play. It was another quick fifty this season, having already produced similar efforts earlier in the tournament against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. This was the third time Vaibhav had delivered a 15-ball fifty this season.Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl. Cummins was returning to action for the first time since December, having recovered from a back problem that delayed his participation in the Indian Premier League. He replaced Dilshan Madushanka in the starting XI, while Rajasthan Royals brought in Praful Hinge in place of Harsh Dubey.
