Bollywood couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone announced on Sunday that they are expecting their second child.The couple shared a joint post on Instagram, where their daughter Dua was seen holding her mother Deepika’s positive pregnancy test kit.
The ad quickly went viral, garnering more than 4.1 million likes.
Celebrities including Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and many others took to the comments to congratulate the couple and send them their love.
When Deepika Padukone revealed her motherhood plans
Following this announcement, Padukone’s previous statements about motherhood and wanting to have a big family resurfaced on social media. In a 2017 interview with Rajeev Masand, the actor said: “The one thing I should do before I die is definitely have a lot of kids.
“This is what I want to do.”

In an earlier conversation with the journalist, Padukone also spoke about life outside of acting, saying, “If I wasn’t an actor, I don’t know what I would be doing. But I hope there are some kids around. Three little ones, running around. I hope I work enough to take them to photo shoots. Have a happy family. At the same time, I’m still doing what I’m doing.”

During a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival with France24.com, she said she hopes to “have many children, many grandchildren, and a good life.”
Singh and Padukone married in November 2018 in Italy. They welcomed their first child, Doaa, on September 8, 2024.

On the professional front, Singh has been ruling the box office with back-to-back films – ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. The films have so far generated an estimated revenue of Rs 3,100 crore at the box office. Deepika, will soon be seen playing the lead role alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film King. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and is scheduled to release on Christmas 2026. She will also be seen sharing screen space with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s upcoming film Raaka.
