Super Mario Galaxy movie and Hail Mary project continues to dominate the box office, while the new horror film Lee Cronin The Mummy It opens in third place domestically with an estimated $12.5 million based on Friday earnings.
Of universality and illumination, Super Mario — which will cross the $350 million mark sometime Sunday — will top the chart in its third weekend with estimated earnings of $30 million. While the second part lags about $60 million behind the first Super MarioIt’s already the highest-grossing Hollywood film of the year so far and is about to jump to $700 million in worldwide ticket sales.

Amazon MGM Studios Peace be upon you, Mary It continues its remarkable journey, falling just 23 percent in its fifth weekend to an estimated $18.5 million on a cume of $283 million. The sleeper hit returns to Imax and other premium large-format screens this weekend, several days after star/producer Ryan Gosling and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller appeared at CinemaCon to thank theater owners and announce that Amazon MGM is expanding the film’s exclusive run in theaters.
Produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse and James Wan’s Atomic Monster. The mummy is Cronin’s R-rated reimagining of the Universal franchise for all audiences. Critics were divided on the film, but audience exits were decently good. Also, the picture ended up sharing Imax screens with Peace be upon you, Mary.
Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace and Veronica Falcone are the stars of the picture written and directed by Cronin. The story revolves around a family who was grieving the disappearance of their daughter eight years ago in Cairo. Suddenly, they receive a call from Egyptian officials revealing that they have found her after spending the past eight years in a 3,000-year-old coffin and transformed into a living, mummy-like creature.
Cronin celebrates the revival evil dead Franchise with Rising Evil Deadwhich grossed $147 million globally in 2023. He burst onto the scene with the 2019 film The hole in the groundwhich bowed at Sundance.
