Virat Kohli has become the talk of the town due to his liking of German model Lieselaz’s pictures. This has been blowing up since Friday morning and social media quickly erupted, with many users drawing comparisons with the ‘likegate’ of 2025 involving Avneet Kaur.
LizLaz, a musician and vlogger whose post unexpectedly turned into a viral talking point, has finally broken her silence about it. She has now reacted to Virat’s admiration for her post and the reactions that followed. “It was crazy because I woke up and then I was watching the news,” she said during a conversation with Hindustan Times, adding, “I don’t even know when he liked the photo, I learned through the news. A lot of people found articles written about me on many different platforms and sent them to me in my DMs.”
I received a lot of messages today, and people were very excited about it.

Even after Kohli later removed the like, Lizaz says she felt more sympathy than disappointment. “No, I actually felt a little sorry for him!” she says. “I was so happy that he liked it, but then he didn’t like it, and I felt a little bad for him because I don’t even know how it became such a big story. How people noticed, how they made it news… that probably wasn’t his intention behind it, but I’m still grateful for it and I appreciate the support from him.”
“Meanwhile, a clip emerging from one of LizLaz’s previous interviews has also been circulating online, in which she openly admitted that she is a Kohli fan. She explains that this admiration began during her first visit to India last year. What was supposed to be a short stay with a close friend in Bengaluru soon turned into a months-long trip across the country, including stops in Goa, Mysuru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.“One of my best friends is from Bangalore, so I just wanted to visit them. I thought I would stay maybe a couple of weeks and then leave. But then I enjoyed it so much, so I stayed for a few months. I also started traveling around South India, Goa, Mysore, and as far as Coorg, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and later the north. This trip is when I was introduced to cricket as a sport. I had never seen it before or anything else.”
I was born in South Africa but grew up in Germany, where the national sport is only football. That trip also introduced her to the Indian Premier League. Watching the matches with friends from Bengaluru turned her into a Royal Challengers Bengaluru supporter and, of course, a Kohli fan.“Obviously it was the Indian Premier League last year, so I started watching with my friends in Bangalore. It was contagious. I also became a Royal Challengers Bangalore fan.”
Obviously, if you support RCB, Virat Kohli is the most exciting player to watch. It’s very good. “So I was happy he liked the photo.”The viral moment has already brought unexpected professional attention her way. “There have been a lot of inquiries. But I am taking my time. I am passionate about music and vlogging. And if I get music opportunities in India, why not? Maybe I will visit again soon. I wish I was there for the Indian Premier League (IPL) this time.”
