According to police, Fairfax appears to have shot and killed his late wife before turning the gun on himself. Police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide after they responded to a 911 call to the couple’s home in Annandale, Virginia, where they found a man and woman dead.
Police Chief Davis said it appears the same firearm was used in the shooting of the couple.
“Half of America probably goes through divorce at some point, and very rarely, fortunately, does it end that way,” Davis noted. “So, I’m very sad for this community… a lot of people who know the Fairfax family – everyone is shocked. We are shocked.”
