A special court for MPs and MLAs has found the Congress MLA guilty in the 2016 murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda, along with 18 others. Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhatt acquitted two other accused, news agency PTI reported.

The court will pronounce the amount of the penalty tomorrow (Thursday).

Kulkarni was a prime accused in the murder of Yogesh Gowda, who was killed on June 15, 2016 at a gym in Dharwad. Kulkarni, who is accused of conspiracy in the murder, was a minister at the time of the incident.

The case was initially handled by the local police and was later transferred to the CBI in 2019 when the BJP came to power. BCI recorded statements of 113 witnesses and arrested Kulkarni in 2020.

Kulkarni spent more than nine months in jail before getting bail from the Supreme Court.
