Jerry Seinfeld and Weird Al Yankovic return to their comedy roots to headline the hit comedy. Just for laughs The comedy festival will be held in Montreal next July, organizers said Wednesday.
Seinfeld premiered on JFL in 1989, just like his own sitcom Seinfeld About a motley crew of misfits in New York City that got off the ground and ran for nine seasons on NBC. After directing his first film not frozen, As for Netflix, Seinfeld will return to Montreal for its 2026 edition to present its one-man show, Jerry Seinfeld LiveOn July 23, at the Place des Arts Concert Hall.
Yankovic, who first played in the JFL in Montreal in 1990, will perform his one-man show, Weird Al Yankovic: A Bigger, Stranger Tour Free on July 25 at the outdoor Festival Plaza. JFL organizers also announced the first wave of hosts for the two-night party, including YouTube star Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Train wreck Actor Mike Birbiglia, Atsuko Okatsuka, whose second TV special aired on Hulu and Disney+, and Jerry Dee, Animal control star.
“Today’s announcement should give fans an idea of the world-class caliber of performers we have in store this summer, and we can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks,” Nick Brazao, vice president of programming and talent at the JFL, said in a statement.
Montreal’s July stand-up line-up will also include Nurse June, Jordan Jensen, Sibling Rivalry Live, David Nihill, Tracy and Martina Live!, Ron Funches, Zoltan Casas, Jacqueline Novak, Girls Gotta Eat and Martin Amini. JFL added the second offer, Smosh reads Reddit stories live! Hosted by Shayne Topp, it will bring back popular club shows like The Nasty Show, The Culture Show and Brit(ish).
Additional programming details, including the industry conference, awards presentations and full festival schedule, will be announced in the coming weeks.
