Donald Trump believes drinking soda kills cancer cells, says health expert: 'It's freshly squeezed, how bad is it?'

US President Donald Trump has reportedly suggested that diet soda may help fight cancer, based on the idea that it can kill grass when poured on it, according to comments made by Dr.

Mehmet Oz. Oz serves as director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.Oz shared the claim during an appearance on Donald Trump Jr.’s radio show. He described conversations with Trump in which the US president linked the effect of soda on plants to what it might do inside the human body.“Your dad says diet soda is good for him because it kills the grass if you pour it on the grass, so it must kill the cancer cells inside the body,” Oz told Trump Jr.

on the podcast, adding that he was surprised by the logic. He also recalled a separate moment on Air Force One where Trump was seen drinking a soda and repeating a similar thought.“He puts Fanta on the desk and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ He began to smile shyly, then said: “As you know, this substance is good for me, as it kills cancer cells.” Trump also added that Fanta is “freshly squeezed, so how bad is it for you?”Oz also said that Trump had a strong preference for diet sodas, often using the red button in the Oval Office to order them during meetings.

The comments come amid discussions involving Oz and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who spoke about encouraging healthy diets in the United States. However, Oz said Trump continued to consume sugary and diet drinks along with fast food, especially McDonald’s.Trump has long been known for his unusual views on health and diet, including past statements questioning the value of exercise and promoting the “battery” theory that the body has a finite amount of energy. Despite criticism from medical experts about the health effects of diet sodas,Trump’s health also caught public attention after photos showed clear bruises on his hand during his official appearance. The White House had previously said that such signs could be linked to frequent handshakes with world leaders and the use of aspirin. However, some Democrats have questioned whether Trump is still qualified to serve as president of the United States.
