Director Nag Ashwin paid a heartfelt tribute to Mrunal Thakur at the recent success party of ‘Dacoit’, where she received rave reviews for her role. The ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ director joined the cast and crew of the film and praised her acting abilities and advised her to choose her upcoming projects wisely.

In his speech, after praising the film, Nag told the actress: “Mrunal, I think you are amazing. I am generally very protective of the things you choose. Whenever you do something that is not great, I ask why are you doing it? She deserves to do much better things. And whenever there is a character who has this depth or sadness or pain, I think you are like the era of Madhubala and Smita Patel. There are not many people like that. Currently, Nag Ashwin is gearing up for the sequel of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Prabhas. Deepika Padukone was in the first part but will not be returning, according to reports. The original film grossed Rs 1,000 crore worldwide, raising high hopes for the sequel.
