South Indian star Nayanthara is gearing up for a busy slate of films in 2026 and 2027. Her upcoming projects include the highly anticipated film ‘TOXIC’ alongside Yash, Malayalam dramas ‘Patriot’ and ‘Dear Students’, and ‘NBK 111’ with Nandamuri Balakrishna. Tamil releases like ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ and ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’ are also on the horizon, promising more of their enthralling performances.
Popular actress Nayanthara is one of the biggest leading ladies of South Indian cinema. From ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ to ‘Chandramukhi’, in her career she has managed to produce a lot of blockbuster and fan favorite films.
Known for her versatile acting skills and screen presence along with her co-star, Nayanthara is a force to be reckoned with. It looks like 2026 and 2027 are packed for her as she gears up for some big roles coming up. Here’s what we know about her upcoming projects.
Nayanthara Upcoming Projects
Perhaps one of her most anticipated roles in her upcoming projects is the film ‘TOXIC’ opposite Yash, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Kiara Advani, Kyle Paul and many others.
Other than this, she is also portraying multiple roles in different languages. “TOXIC” is scheduled to be officially released on June 4 this year. One of her roles includes ‘The Patriot’, an upcoming Malayalam film that is currently still in production. She will star opposite Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Darshana Rajendran, and many more. Another Malayalam film that Nayanthara is said to be working on is titled ‘Dear Students’, however, not much is known about this upcoming film.
Both films are scheduled to be released this year.As for 2027, the actress is also part of an upcoming project titled “NBK 111”. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and is directed by Gopichand Malineni. It is currently still in production.

Other than all this, the star is still busy and has been confirmed to appear in 4 upcoming films in Tamil. One such film is ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, a fantasy film starring Urvashi, Sneha and Duniya Vijay, among others.
It is a direct sequel to the 2020 film, and Nayanthara is all set to reprise her role as the leading lady. The next film is ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’, the shooting of which has already wrapped. Directed by Dude Vicky, the film will also star Yogi Babu, Gouri G. Kishan, Devadarshini Chetan, and many others in the lead role. She will also be seen in the film ‘Hi’, where she will play the leading lady alongside her co-star Kavin.
While it is scheduled to be released in April 2026, no official dates have been shared with the public. Another film, in development since 2024, will likely be released this year. ‘Rakkayie’ stars Nayanthara once again and tells the story of a mother who does anything and everything to protect her daughter from evil.
