Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli mourn the death of Asha Bhosle

New Delhi: India woke up to heartbreaking news on Sunday with the death of legendary singer Asha Bhosle at the age of 92. Condolences poured in from across the country, including from cricket icons such as Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, who remembered her not just as a music legend but as someone he cherished deeply.Tendulkar shared an emotional message, highlighting how close she is to his family. “A very sad day for India and for music lovers around the world. For us, Asha Tai was family. Today, words seem too small for the loss we feel. One moment the heart is silent, and the next, it drifts through the countless melodies she has gifted to us all. It is as if time itself has stopped. However, through her eternal songs, she will remain eternally immortal.”

He also added, “Thank you Tai for filling our lives with warmth, grace and unforgettable music. We will miss you so much, Asha Tai.”

Kohli also paid tribute, saying, “Rest in peace, Asha Bhosle ji. Your voice has touched millions and will live forever in our hearts. Om Shanti.”Several other cricket personalities, including Gautam Gambhir and BCCI Vice-Chairman Rajeev Shukla, expressed their grief. Gambhir said: “Saddened by the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle ji.

Her elegance and incomparable talent will always remain in our memories.”Asha Bhosle died at Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure after being admitted to hospital due to exhaustion and a chest infection. Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news. Fans and well-wishers can pay their last respects at her residence in Lower Parel, with the final rites scheduled later at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
