New Delhi: Punjab Kings produced a record performance in the IPL, becoming the first team in the history of T20 cricket to chase 200-plus totals 10 times. Their latest achievement came in a thrilling six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Shreyas Iyer leading from the front with an unbeaten 69.After chasing a grueling 220 runs in Chandigarh, Punjab got off to a bright start thanks to Priyansh Arya and Prabsimran Singh. Arya was particularly explosive, smashing 57 off just 20 balls, while Prabbhasimran added 51 balls.

The duo put together a 99-run opening stand, putting heavy pressure on Hyderabad early in the chase. However, the game took a turn when left-arm pacer Shivang Kumar responded with three quick wickets, removing both openers and Cooper Connolly. At that point, Punjab needed stability, and Commander Iyer stepped up. He first stabilized the innings and then accelerated brilliantly, reaching his fifty in just 24 balls.Iyer found support in Nehal Wadhera, as the pair added 69 runs to get the chase back on track. Shashank Singh then joined Iyer and calmly finished the job, reaching the winning boundary to seal a memorable victory.
Shashank also played a key role earlier with the ball, returning figures of 2/20.Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad had posted 219/6, buoyed by a strong start from Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The duo added 120 runs for the first wicket, with Abhishek scoring 74 runs off just 28 balls, including two eights. Head contributed a quick 38 as Hyderabad dominated the early innings. But Punjab fought back through Shashank Singh, who gave away the opening two goals in quick succession to slow the scoring. While Heinrich Klaasen (39) and Ishan Kishan (27) tried to rebuild, Hyderabad continued to lose wickets at crucial moments and did not reach a bigger total. With the win, Punjab Kings remain unbeaten in the tournament, registering their third win in four matches and confirming their growing reputation as one of the most dangerous chasing sides in T20 cricket.
