Offset issued his first statement regarding his health since being hospitalized earlier this week after being shot at a Florida casino, assuring fans that he was fine, while a representative for the rapper confirmed that he had been released from the hospital.

“Thank you to everyone who signed me up and showed me love,” the former Migos rapper shared in a statement posted to social media on Friday. “I’m good….but I plan to be better! I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to music…and I realize that life is made up of quiet wins and tough losses….life is a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”

A spokesperson for Offset confirmed in a statement that he has now been discharged from the hospital and is “up and walking.”

“We are very grateful to the doctors, nurses and all the staff at the hospital who took such great care of him,” the spokesman said.

Offset was taken to the hospital Monday after being shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The Seminole Police Department said at the time that he suffered a “non-life-threatening injury.”

Earlier this week, rapper Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested in connection with the shooting on a charge of disorderly conduct during a fight and was booked into the Broward County Jail late Monday night. The arrest led to some confusion online as allegations surfaced that Tjay shot Offset. The rapper’s lawyer issued a statement this week calling the allegations baseless rumours, and said he was not charged with shooting Offset.

“Any report to the contrary is false,” Florio said. “We encourage people to consult reliable news sources, and verify the accuracy of any reports, before sharing or repeating unfounded rumours.”

This isn’t the first time gun violence has affected Migos, as Takeoff was fatally shot in 2022 at a Houston bowling alley.
