BTS star Kim Taehyung plays the idealistic romantic hero in a short film; Fans demand casting in Korean drama series - watch

It’s a good week to be part of the BTS ARMY. Just as videos from the first day of BTS’ “ARIRANG” world tour went viral online, fans of V aka Kim Taehyung enjoyed not only videos of the star’s epic stage performance, but also his acting comeback. The star has officially made his long-awaited return to acting with the short film That Night, Our Decaf. After the trailer release, the makers dropped the short film online on April 10, so fans can see V show off his acting prowess. This time, he takes on the role of the romantic lead opposite actress Park Ji Min. In short, Taehyung plays a quiet and shy man, whose late-night encounter at a café sparks a hidden and passionate connection with a young woman.

As it turns out, the woman in question was his classmate. The video hints at a brewing friendship that unfortunately ends suddenly before turning into a love story. “We never found out why, and so, we slowly drifted apart from each other,” he says in the clip.

However, sparks fly again when the two cross paths at the café. The video was shared with the following caption: “That night we met again, our story gently began to flow again.”

This marks Taehyung’s first acting project in several years, making his comeback especially important for fans who have long awaited his return to the acting industry. However, the 4.5-minute video, with its emotional storyline, wasn’t enough for fans who took to the commentary to demand a K-drama with the hunk. One comment read: ‘WANT MOOOOOREEEE THIS IS NOT ENOUGH, PUT IT INTO A DRAMA WITH AT LEAST 20 EPISODES!!!’Another said: “I got goosebumps omg I really need Taehyung in a K-drama soon.”“Our Taetae I’m so proud! I really hope we can see him in a K-Drama again soon,” read another tweet. The release also coincides with BTS’ ongoing music activities with the ARIRANG Tour, including the release of ARIRANG’s latest album and the release of the SWIM music video.
