ABC News has promoted John Schlossberg to executive producer of This week with George Stephanopoulos Starting May 6th.
The network veteran, based in Washington, D.C., will work with George Stephanopoulos, Martha Raddatz and Jonathan Karl on the Sunday morning news program, while reporting to Washington bureau chief Rick Klein. Before joining ABC News in 2018, Schlossberg was a producer at ABC News-owned television stations KGO-TV in San Francisco and at WVUE-TV in New Orleans.
At ABC News, Schlossberg joined as a producer, helping launch the 24/7 streaming news channel ABC News Live. Since 2021, he has served as senior producer for ABC News Live’s Prime with Lynsey Davis Evening news.
“John is a tenacious journalist and an exceptional leader who has been instrumental at ABC News Group for more than a decade, bringing accuracy, creativity and integrity to some of the most important stories of our time. His sharp political instincts, deep experience in linear as well as live broadcast television, and his proven ability to build winning teams make him the perfect fit to lead This Week in its next chapter,” Klein said in a statement.
ABC News coverage to which Schlossberg has contributed includes multiple election cycles, political conventions, televised presidential debates, and the wars between Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Gaza, among other international conflicts.
Schlossberg has won two DuPont-Columbia Awards, including the ABC News Award for the 2024 Presidential Debate. He has also won an Emmy Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award for the network’s climate coverage.
