Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday made six big promises to the people of West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.

From pledging to put corrupt leaders behind bars to implementing the 7th Pay Commission, the Prime Minister made several promises during his speech in Purba Medinipur.
A look at six big promises made by Prime Minister Modi:
- The BJP government will replace this atmosphere of fear with confidence. It will restore confidence in the rule of law.
- Under a BJP government, the administrative machinery will be accountable – fully accountable – to the public it serves.
- The files relating to every fraud, every act of corruption, every injustice committed against our daughters, and every rape case will be reopened.
- “Anyone involved in corruption under the TMC rule is in prison. Whether it is a minister or a guard, the law will hold everyone accountable. No TMC follower will be able to evade the law anymore.”
- Refugees will be granted constitutional rights and infiltrators will be expelled. “They will not be allowed to stay in India,” Prime Minister Modi said.
- The moment the BJP government is formed, the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented.
