The case came to light on Tuesday evening when Mangolpuri police station received a PCR call around 7 pm that a woman’s body had been discovered inside a room in a building in Pathar Market.

The main accused, who is also the woman’s alleged lover, was arrested along with his 50-year-old uncle and the uncle’s 52-year-old friend, all residents of Mangolpuri.

According to the cops, the woman is also a resident of Mangolpuri and works as a domestic help. She is survived by her husband and three children. The accused runs a chicken shop near her residence.

On Tuesday, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the woman went to the Public Prosecution and met with the accused. The two stayed inside the room for about an hour. During this time, the other two men were also present at the property.

The PG owner told police that the 22-year-old accused requested access to his room for a few hours to meet a woman. When he returned later in the evening, he found the room open and the man missing. As he entered, he noticed a leg sticking out of the bed box.

He opened it and discovered the woman’s body, and then informed the police.

“The body had signs of strangulation and injuries on the forehead. It has been sent for examination of the body,” said Jatin Narwal, Joint Commissioner of Police, Western Region.

“Pinned, choked, then choked.”

Senior police officers said the accused later confessed to the murder, claiming he had acted in a fit of rage.

The crime unfolded after the woman refused to have an intimate relationship with the other two men, the accused’s uncle and his friend.

Investigators said that detailing the sequence of events, the accused allegedly forced the woman to fall to the ground and pinned her with his hands and legs. He then suffocated her with a blanket before suffocating her to death.

The policeman added that the woman suffered “wounds on her forehead.” The main accused then “placed the body in a bed box in the PG residence owned by his friend, while his uncle and the uncle’s friend remained on guard outside the room.”

Later, the two helped the 22-year-old flee the crime scene.

A case has been registered under Sections 103 (murder) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said.

Detectives are also investigating whether the woman was sexually harassed by the three men before the killing, officials said.
