Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is joining the cast of Alien: Earth Season 2 as a series regular

Emmy Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of Season 2 of Alien: Earth, the first major addition to director Noah Hawley’s sci-fi franchise. Production on the new season, which begins after a cliffhanger finale, is scheduled to begin production in May at Pinewood Studios in London.

Four-time Emmy Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of Alien: Earth Season 2. The Game of Thrones star is the first major addition to the series from creator and director Noah Hawley. Details about Peter’s character are still being kept secret.

Production is scheduled to begin in May

According to Deadline, Peter will be a regular on the sci-fi drama series. Production on the second season is expected to begin in May at London’s Pinewood Studios, home of the original 1979 film, Alien 3 and the prequel Prometheus, after the first season was filmed in Thailand.

The first season of Alien: Earth ended in a cliffhanger

The first season of the series ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, with the remaining characters from the series gathered in one room and hybrid Wendy (Sydney Chandler) saying “Now we rule.”

“This chapter has been closed, but the Yutani forces are landing. The balance of power has changed. These kids have no idea what’s coming,” Showrunner Hawley told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that the final line of “We Rule Now” is triumphant and exhilarating.

But cut it short after 10 minutes…what happens? So I like that it has that real-time urgency.

More about the “Alien: Earth” franchise.

Inspired by Ridley Scott’s 1979 hit film, and set two years before the events of the original film, “Alien: Earth” is the first television entry in the “Alien” franchise.

Starring Sidney Chandler as the robot Wendy, the cast also includes Alex Luther, Essie Davis, Samuel Blinken, Babu Sisay, Adarsh Gourav, and Timothy Olyphant.

Peter Dinklage’s latest work

Dinklage, who won four Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones, most recently appeared in Roofman opposite Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, as well as in Wicked alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. He also starred in the movie “Dexter: Resurrection.”
