Tom Holland has seen the Christopher Nolan movie Odyssey And he has some epic praise for the upcoming legendary adventure film.
talking to GQ“I can tell you it’s an absolute masterpiece, and I’m taking myself out of that equation,” the actor said. Holland added that the “wonderful” film was full of amazing practical effects.
“It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before,” Holland said. “I think when I watched the film I found myself asking a question that I haven’t asked about any film in a long time, which is, ‘How did you do that?’
Holland continued: “There were certain sequences in the movie where I was watching it and kind of thinking, ‘How the heck did he do that? This must be CG.” And then [watching] The movie [I asked Nolan]”That was definitely CG, wasn’t it?” And he was like, “No, no, no, this is all about camera effects.” Very planned and very prepared. So I think fans are going to be really impressed with the scenes and sequences throughout the movie, because even as someone who was there that day and was in the movie, I was absolutely blown away by the size and scope and his ability to navigate such a complex and honest story in the middle of this crazy action movie genre. So it’s one of my proudest accomplishments as an actor and I’m very touched that Chris gave me the opportunity to be in the movie.
Holland also spoke about the upcoming Sony-Marvel sequel Spider-Man: A Brand New Daywho has recently been filming new footage for himself.
The actor noted that he was in London filming additional scenes for the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed film, which will be released in theaters on July 31 (while Odyssey Released 1 week ago, July 17).
Holland described the new footage as “really fun” and stressed that the reshoots didn’t mean the film wasn’t already good.
“I can say with certainty that we don’t need the things we’re doing,” he said. “The movie works and sings as it is. We’re just adding the icing on the cake in certain areas. We’re finding some ways to add more humor. We’re layering the villain’s plot in a new way and some really fun stuff.”
Marvel president Kevin Feige advocates having a flexible, evolving script and making changes during filming and after principal photography, a process he calls “plus-ing.”
Last July, Figi spoke to Hollywood Reporter How there was constantly a “plus” in the group Avengers: Doomsday.
“There are additional things happening every day on Avengers: Doomsday “The movie is set now,” Feige said, “and it’s amazing to watch because these directors and actors, both those who are playing these characters for the first or second time and those who are playing them for the 10th or 12th time, are the best in the world at this business, and they know these characters so well. So if they have an idea, you want to hear it, you want to adapt it, you want to make it better. I don’t want to change that.”
