Kevin Shivers has been named co-president of The Team, the agency announced Tuesday, one of the most notable executive developments since its rebrand from Wasserman.

As co-president, Shivers will work closely with The Team’s head of music Lee Anderson to oversee the agency’s music department. Shivers is a popular booking agent, with a roster that includes Tyler, The Creator, Kid Cudi, Leon Thomas, Vince Staples, Kali Uchis and more. He came to the agency last year after leaving WME.

“Kevin is one of the most respected and beloved voices in our business. Since day one he joined our company, he has made positive impacts through mentorship, strategic input and a constant drive to improve our business,” Anderson said in a statement. “He brings a rare combination of instinct, experience, selflessness and integrity to everything he does. As we look to the future, there is no one better than him to help lead this group forward.”

Chivers added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and grateful to take on this role at such an important moment for the company. What makes this place special is the people – the level of care, ambition and belief in each other. We’re just getting started, and I’m excited to continue building alongside this team and our clients around the world.”

As Shivers has generally acknowledged, his promotion comes at a pivotal time for his agency as The Team is currently up for sale in the wake of the scandal surrounding founder Casey Wasserman over his inclusion in the Epstein files. Wasserman announced his intention to sell in a memo to staff in February, after several prominent artists including Chappelle Rowan said they would leave the agency.

In March, Wasserman officially rebranded as “The Team.”

“For 24 years, this company has been shaped by our work, our people and our unified belief in the power of sports, music and entertainment,” read a message to reveal the new brand at the time. “This philosophy remains the foundation of who we are – and where we are headed. We are moving forward as we have always done: together.”
