Stephen Sunshine, writer and producer of “Webster” and “The New Odd Couple,” has died at the age of 81.

Stephen Sunshine, a writer and producer who has worked with his wife, Madeline Sunshine, on television shows Webster and The new odd couple And in the movie Blake Edwards Son of the Pink PantherHe died. He was 81 years old.

A family spokesperson announced that Sunshine died on March 15 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, after a battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.

He and Madeleine, who is also a novelist, children’s author and playwright, have been married for 56 years. They were behind Cyrano musicala theatrical production directed by Joel Zwick that combines elements of Cyrano de Bergerac and Tony Soprano.

Sunshine also co-directed the 2012 documentary with Howie Mandel and Reed Grinsell committedabout writer and performer Vic Cohen, was a founding member of the Creative Alliance, which helped provide Hollywood insiders with accurate political information as media sources and public speakers.
