James Cullen Brissack, who was a low-budget horror sensation, returns to the genre with I Have Proof after spending a decade largely in the action genre.

James Cullen Brisac is going low-key for his upcoming horror film. The director will be filming I have proof Entirely on VHS-C, a move to fit the back-to-basics approach of the script he wrote.
Plot details are preserved in an old VCR, but the film is said to be psychologically charged, favoring “texture, imperfection and immediacy over polish” according to Brisac, as it explores a deteriorating sense of reality.
To find enough VHS tapes to shoot, he bought about 30 tapes on Ebay, and bought old home movies for people to record on.
I have proof It marks his return to the horror genre after a decade spent directing action films, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme The darkness of manPlus features starring Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson. Before that, Brisac was a star of low-budget horror films, directing his first film at the age of 18 and directing projects such as Bethany.
“This is my return to raw, abstract horror,” Brissack said. “I saw a review on Letterboxd from someone who loved my early work and said he missed when I was making bad horror movies. It stuck with me. It pushed me to go back into that space and make something that feels immediate and real to those who saw my films first. We’re completely leaning into analog to create something that an AI can’t replicate and doesn’t even know how to handle; something human and raw.”
Larsen Dean and Lily van der Meer star I have proofwith Kelly Lynn Reiter and P.J. Hendricks appearing in supporting roles. Production begins in Los Angeles later this month.
Bressack produces via his Sandaled Kid Productions banner with David Josh Lawrence. Hendricks executive produces with Robotic Donut’s James Rundquist. Kay Day co-produced.
