Debris from an air interception hit a building in Dubai’s Marina district on Saturday amid the escalating conflict between Israel, the United States and Iran. Authorities said they dealt with debris that struck the facade of the building, and no fire or injuries were reported.

Dubai Marina, where the wreckage fell, is a residential area and a popular tourist spot, home to attractions such as Dubai Marina Mall. The UAE has already witnessed multiple conflict-related incidents. Catholic churches in Dubai have suspended all Mass and parish activities from Friday, during Holy Week following official safety directives issued amid escalating regional tensions. On the same day, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard also released a video threatening to strike the 1GW Stargate AI data center in the United Arab Emirates.

The Stargate project is supported by the Japanese company Softbank, the American technology giants Oracle, Cisco, Nvidia, OpenAI, and the UAE’s G42.The UAE is under attack primarily because it hosts key US military assets such as Al Dhafra Air Base, making it a “legitimate target” in Tehran’s retaliation strategy under Operation True Promise IV. Iran directed its missiles and drones towards the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and hit the UAE hard to punish its alliance with the United States.

The conflict began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, including an attack that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran later launched retaliatory strikes targeting assets linked to the United States and Israel across the region, leading to a broader escalation of the conflict.
