Suryakumar Yadav brought some fun ahead of Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday by recreating Akshaye Khanna’s viral move from ‘Dhurandhar’. This comes after MI’s recent win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

MI’s official Instagram page dropped a video of Suryakumar with the caption: “Ye Dada ka style hai, full Dhurandhar mode (This is Dada style).” As Flipperachi’s FA9LA pumps through the speakers, the star hitter steps onto the stage. He pulled off Akshay’s signature moves from the film to cheers from the audience. After a short stroll, Suryakumar can’t resist and does more dance steps.The Indian cricketer is not new to enjoying Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ films. Not long ago, while MI co-owner Nita Ambani was talking about Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling wizardry, Suryakumar rudely attacked him, saying: “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi? (Didn’t you miss home, Jassi?)”, echoing a character’s quip of Ranveer Singh in “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”. Laughter erupted all around, exacerbated by the fact that Bumrah’s wife, anchor Sanjana Ganesan, had just said the same sentence to him.

The first film, ‘Dhurandhar’, stormed theaters in December 2025, and has grossed over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide. Its following, since March 19 in Hindi and South Indian, has already crossed Rs 1,500 crore globally. Facing mixed criticism, including “propaganda” jabs, the film still enjoyed great audience affection and achieved impressive results at the box office.

“Dangal”, which was a huge hit in 2016, is the fourth highest grossing film in India after “Dangal”, “Pushpa 2: The Rule” and “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion”. Whether it will take first place by the end of its theatrical run remains to be seen.
