While many praise Sangeet Shobhan’s humor and energetic performance, some criticize the weak first half and unprofessional execution. Despite mixed reviews, the film is known for its entertaining comedy and strong second half, making it a potential weekend watch for some.

Helmed by actress-turned-producer Niharika Konidela under her banner, Telugu horror-comedy ‘Rakasa’ has hit the big screens. The film is directed by Manasa Sharma and stars Sangeeth Shobhan. Soon after the release, many people started sharing their thoughts on social media.

The film gets mixed reactions from the audience.

The audience finds a lot of laughter in “Rakasa”.

Some viewers enjoy the movie very much. One netizen took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “Rakaa is a finely crafted horror-comedy that brings a lot of laughs. Both the first half and the second half are filled with many hilarious moments, while the backstory also seems compelling and well-executed. A few of the characters could have been handled better, and there are some repetitive moments in between, but apart from that, it turned out to be a fun and enjoyable ride overall.”

“Racassa” had a strong second half

Another said: “The first half is full of fun, the interval ends with a good sequence, and an excellent second half with a good story. Sangeeth Chopin, Vennela Kishore and Jeetup Srinu provide top notch entertainment. Nayan Sarika was good. The climax was very good. Niharika Konidela was another hit. Anudeep’s music was good, RR was excellent. Great weekend viewing.”

Criticism of poor first half and execution

However, some shared their criticism of the 2-hour and 10-minute film. They wrote: “The first half is flat, with nothing really engaging and the comedy barely works. The second half is a bit better, with Vennela Kishore eliciting some laughs and some sarcasm, but overall, it still feels amateurish. The concept had potential, but the execution is just too silly. Sangeeth Chopin tries his best to execute it, but neither the fantasy/horror elements nor the comedy fully work due to the weak screenplay. Below average!”

Even with the mixed talk, many people are praising Sangeeth Chopin. A user wrote: “From the beginning to the climax, RaKaSa is full of comedy and keeps the audience constantly entertained. Sanjeet Shubhan once again delivers a powerful performance.”Another added: “Rakhasa is a fun-filled fantasy entertainer who blends magical mayhem, clean comedy and refreshingly engaging storytelling. Sangeeth Shobhan is clearly the highlight. He delivers an energetic and effortless performance.”“Rakasa” gets mixed reviews, but the comedy and lead actor attract many viewers. The film stars Sangeeth Chobhan and Nayan Sarika in the lead roles. It will be released on April 3.
