What's next for Pam Bondi? Trump's outgoing DOJ says she's thrilled about her next private sector role hours after being fired

Pam Bondi says she is excited about her new role in the public sector where she will be working with President Donald Trump and the administration.

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a statement after President Donald Trump announced her exit from the crucial Justice Department head position and said she is happy with her new position in the private sector, because she will fight for President Trump and the administration in her new role as well.

Contrary to social media posts, the exit was not amicable as reports claimed there was a huge confrontation between Trump and Bondi before Trump’s speech last night. The Daily Mail reported, citing informed sources, that Trump told Bondi that she had been fired and Bondi tried to change his mind, pleading with the president not to fire her and to give her more time. The announcement was supposed to be made on Friday, but as many media outlets such as the New York Times and CNN reported, the announcement was made only on Thursday. “Pam Bondi is a great American patriot and loyal friend, who has served faithfully in the position of Attorney General over the past year. Pam has done a tremendous job in overseeing a massive crime crackdown across our country, with homicides falling to their lowest level since 1900. We love Pam, and she will be moving on to an important and much-needed new job in the private sector, to be announced sometime in the near future. Our Deputy Attorney General, and a talented and highly respected legal mind, Todd Blanche, will take over as Attorney General.” Acting.

Thank you for your interest in this issue! President Donald J. Trump,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

This was the second reshuffle after Trump ousted Kristi Noem from the Department of Homeland Security. In her statement, Bondi said that this month she will transfer the Attorney General’s office to Todd Blanche before “moving to an important role in the private sector that brings me joy, and where I will continue to fight for President Trump and this administration.”“Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful effort to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and is easily the most important first year for the Department of Justice in American history. Since February 2025, we have had the lowest homicide rate in 125 years, obtained the first-ever terrorist convictions against members of Antifa, smashed domestic and transnational gangs across the country, incarcerated more than 90 key cartel figures, and obtained 24 verdicts in favor of the court.” Supreme Court.

“I will be forever grateful for the trust President Trump has placed in me to make America safe again,” Pam Bondi said. Unlike Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi will not remain part of the administration. After firing Noem from the Department of Homeland Security, Trump created a new position for her as “Special Envoy for Shield of the Americas” — a security initiative in the Western Hemisphere.
