‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ will end with season 3; Selena Gomez in the first live show

Get ready for one last spell.

A sequel series from the Disney branded television series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place It will conclude with its third season scheduled to be released this summer. The show will go into production next week.

The original series launched the career of Selena Gomez, who is set to make her directorial debut with the Season 3 premiere. She will also reprise her role as Alex Russo in multiple episodes throughout the season.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Continue story Wizards of Waverly Placewhich aired for four seasons — along with a TV movie — on Disney Channel from 2007 to 2012. The original series followed the Russo siblings — Alex (Gomez), Justin (David Henrie), and Max (Jake T. Austin) — as they trained as magicians under their father, Jerry (David DeLuise). In the series finale, Alex wins the family wizard competition, taking full control of the family’s powers.

The sequel series debuted on Disney Channel and Disney+ in October 2024, and follows Justin as he adjusts to life without magic. His world is turned upside down when Alex introduces him to Billie (Janice Lynn Brown), a young witch-in-training in need of guidance. Gomez previously appeared as a guest star in the first two seasons.

According to the official Season 3 trailer: “Still reeling from the loss of Alex at the end of Season 2, Billie discovers that the only way to save her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father. As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power may be the only way the Russians can defeat the evil that threatens them.”

The cast also includes Alkaio Thiel as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo. Wizards of Waverly Place Created by Todd Greenwald. Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with Gary Marsh, Jonas Again, Rick Williams, Gomez and Henry.
