Films like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ have a cult status of their own and over the years, have become one of the most loved films in Indian cinema. In fact, Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ changed the tide of Indian cinema, as no one had seen cinema of this kind on a large scale before. Despite the fact that these two films are now called ‘iconic’ and are still remembered over the years, an old interview with Kunal Kemmu has now gone viral where he said that he cannot relate to these films.
It also seems that netizens clearly agree with him. Interestingly, Kunal directed the film Madgaon Express for Farhan’s production house, and this is how he pitched his film to them. Kunal can be heard saying very happily in this interview: “Dil Chahta Hai aur ZNMD aayi, achhi lagi, lekin react nahi kar paaye. hain.

I ended up making Madgaon Express with the same producers DCH and ZNMD, and that’s what my pitch to them was, ki mere jaise logon ka kya?
