Raghav Chadha in Indian stock market

Citing corrosion $48 lakh crore of Indian stock market wealth since the start of the war in West Asia, AAP MP Raghav Chadha on March 24 urged the government to provide relief to retail investors.

Speaking during a debate on the Appropriation Bill (No. 2) in the Rajya Sabha, Chadha said the conflict in West Asia is not “our war”, but its impact is being felt in Indian markets.

“It is a black swan event because it was suddenly triggered from abroad and has nothing to do with the underlying Indian economic fundamentals,” Chadha said.

He pointed out that global financial markets are witnessing increasing volatility due to the ongoing escalation in West Asia, as Indian markets are also witnessing a sharp erosion in investor wealth.
