Veteran music composer Mani Sharma recently gave a moving speech at the audio launch of ‘Chennai Love Story’ in Hyderabad. The music composer, known for his chart-topping records across multiple languages, especially Telugu and Tamil, spoke candidly about the period when he had almost no work.
Mani Sharma said he was feeling relaxed at home when film director Sai Rajesh approached him with the idea of composing music for the film. The letter quickly spread among the music composer’s well-wishers, who were impressed by Sharma’s honesty and simplicity despite his long years in the industry.

As part of the event, Mani Sharma stated how the opportunity came at an unexpected time. According to him, he had never met Sai Rajesh before and was surprised when the director visited him.
Sharing the moment, according to India Today, he said, “One day I was sitting at home when he came and said he was the director who had made ‘Baby’.” The composer admitted that he was initially confused as to why the director had come to meet him.
“I was wondering why he was telling me that and what job he was offering me,” he said. This meeting eventually turned into an important moment in his career.

Mani Sharma also revealed how Sai Rajesh encouraged him to start composing again.
The composer said he even joked about not knowing where his organ was. “I told him I don’t even know where my organ is now,” he said. But the manager did not give up. “He himself went and found it, cleaned the dust, and brought it,” Mani Sharma said with a smile. Once he sat down and started working, he realized that the music inside him was still alive.
“After composing one tune, I realized I had music in me,” he said, adding that the team worked together happily and produced many beautiful tunes.
