Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has turned out to be a juggernaut at the box office, attracting massive crowds and sparking widespread discussion across the country. It has become the talk of the town.
However, despite its massive commercial success, Dhurandhar 2 also faced criticism from a section of viewers, with some calling it a ‘propaganda’ film.
While many public figures have previously contributed to this debate, veteran actor and politician Mithun Chakraborty has now shared his view.Chakraborty spoke about his unreleased 2025 project The Bengal Files, pointing out the contrast in how the two films were handled.
He said that if his film could be blocked from being released, similar objections should apply to ‘Dhurandhar 2’ as well. He also said that the “propaganda” accusations did not arise until after the film had actually been released. “The Bengal Files ko Release hone nahi dya, isse badi kya baat karenge? Ab Dhurandhar ko bhi Propaganda kehte, toh Dhurandhar ko bhi rok Lete na? Dhurandhar release hui, aur ab aap kehte ho ki Propaganda hai,” he told IANS.
Lekin The Bengal Files ka release Tak Nahi Hoon Diya. Uske v mein jaake, movie ko release tak hone nahi diya bengal mein. Is it badi dukh ki baat kya ho sakti hai?”

Har sampraday ke logon ne dekhi hai, tareef ki hai, aur do-teen baar dekhne ke baad hi photo ka yeh business hota hai.”
