Angry fans wonder why Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana' teaser was released for the first time in Los Angeles: 'It's an Indian film'

The makers of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Ramayana recently unveiled the teaser in Los Angeles. However, the preview is yet to be released in India and is expected to be released on April 2, a move that has left many of the actor’s fans disappointed.

The decision sparked controversy online, with many users taking to X to question why the teaser was shown overseas before being made available to the Indian audience. Some users claimed that the makers of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial are prioritizing international markets and NRI audiences, while others felt that the move ignored the emotional connection between Indian viewers and the story.“What’s wrong with India? It’s an Indian movie, why can’t it be India first,” one user wrote.

Another added: “Just to create hype in India, the drama continues.. Ramayana is our story.. Why the first look in another country… The producer just wants money.. Where are the feelings of our people.” “So the first person to ever see this was in Los Angeles, not India? Wow, I get it! At least the Varanasi event was, you know, in India!” a third user wrote. The film features a star-studded cast, with Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Yash will be seen as Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey will essay Hanuman and Lakshman respectively. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh are set to play the roles of Mandodri and Surpanakha. The cast also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothar, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan in the lead roles.
