The director says he identified the similarities after watching the film
Santosh explained that he only realized the alleged overlap after watching the film, which performed strongly at the box office.“You may have seen the film Dhurandhar 2. It is doing very well all around. After watching the film, I realized that it is my script and story. I wrote it with a lot of hard work in 2023. I narrated it to many companies because I was told that if you need senior actors in the film, there should be a corporate organization supporting it,” he told the media.

The director said he has taken the script to several production houses in a bid to scale up the project, including Sony Pictures, Zee Studios, T-Series and Dharma Productions.He also revealed that he had a different casting option in mind during the initial stages, where he chose Aditya Roy Kapur as his favorite hero.
“I registered my story” with the Screenwriters Association
Santosh confirmed that his text was officially recorded and that it carried evidence to support his claim.
He said: “I tried a lot, and sent my story to many people. I am a member of the Screenwriters Association, and I registered my story there in November 2023.”

“My story has been exploited,” says the director.
Santosh reiterated his position and said that he intends to pursue the matter legally, even as he acknowledged the film’s success.“I am making a case against this film because even though they made a good film, my story was exploited. I wrote the film for cinema and entertainment, but they made it as political propaganda.
“It hurts,” he said.He also stressed that the issue goes beyond his personal experience. He added: “What happened to me should not happen to anyone, and that is why I will do my best to inform people about it.”

According to his IMDb profile, Santosh Kumar RS hails from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district of Karnataka and has worked in several roles as a director, writer and producer. He made his directorial debut with the Kannada film Campus Kranti (2023) and is currently working on Yuvan Robinhood, an upcoming pan-India action thriller scheduled to release in 2026. Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, also stars R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. The film, which released on March 19, is now close to Rs 900 crore at the global box office.
