Ahead of the release of the first look of ‘Rama’ on April 2, Ranbir Kapoor, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, headed to Los Angeles, where they premiered the visuals from their film to a select audience at an IMAX screening.
At the event, the trio also sat down for a Q&A, where they answered questions about their upcoming film, their characters, and more. In the now-surfaced video from the event, Ranbir is seen taking center stage as he shares his thoughts on his portrayal of Lord Rama. Speaking at the launch, Kapoor described Lord Rama not only as a mythical figure, and not just a ‘conscious guardian’, but also introduced the Western audience to the term ‘Maryada Purushottam’ which means the perfect man.

At the event, Ranbir said, “Ram has been the conscious guardian of billions of people around the world for centuries and long after. He enlightens us about the human spirit in terms of adversity. He represents compassion, courage, righteousness and tolerance. He is called Maryada Purushottam, which symbolizes the ideal man.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film, directed on a huge budget, aims to give a brilliant retelling of the epic saga.
The Los Angeles event is said to be part of the team’s wider international rollout strategy. The team headed to the US for the first look. This comes after a special screening of the film in the United States for test audiences.
First glimpse of runtime of ‘Ramayana’ revealed
According to reports, the first look titled ‘RAMA’ has been certified with a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds. According to producer Malhotra, the first glimpse will be released in India on April 2, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

The epic saga will have an ensemble cast of Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as the antagonist Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.“Ramayana,” the two-part epic, is scheduled to be released worldwide via IMAX, with Part 1 arriving on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 arriving on Diwali 2027.
