With an impressive box office of over $19 million, “Dhurandhar 2” is excitingly close to surpassing the $20 million mark set by its predecessor.

As reports emerged about ‘Dhurandhar 2’ almost breaking ‘Baahubali 2’s’ 9-year box office record in North America, producer Shobu Yarlagadda responded and congratulated the team. Taking to his social media, he posted a note about the potential record-breaking achievement, sharing, “Yesterday I watched #Dhurandhar2TheRevenge and needless to say I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the movie! Glad to see it breaking all records and setting new box office standards in India and across the world! Congratulations to the entire team! (Applause emoji)”

As reported by Box Office Mojo, Dhurandhar: The Revenge almost broke the 9-year-old North American box office record previously held by Baahubali 2. Prabhas’ film has collected around US$20 million net collection and US$20.19 million gross collection at the North American box office. The net collection of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has reached US$19.33 million, which is on the cusp of breaking the record. The first batch also raised a significant amount, coming close to breaking the record with a total collection of US$19.7 million.

Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, follows the story of a secret agent who infiltrates a powerful gang in Pakistan to crush their attack plans and dismantle the organization from within. The first film was a massive hit and was released in December last year. Now, after spending 10 days at the box office, the sequel has also managed to break records. The second film has earned a net collection of Rs 778.77 crore and a gross collection of Rs 930.44 crore in India so far.
