The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia has directed visa holders to a single helpline to resolve case-related queries, as the previous relief measure for expired visas approaches its final deadline.

The General Directorate of Passports explained that those wishing to inquire about the visa status can contact the unified number 992.This applies to inquiries relating to:All types of visit visas

  • Umrah visas
  • Transit visas
  • Final exit visas

The helpline is specifically designed for cases involving visas that have expired as of February 25, 2026, allowing affected individuals to obtain guidance on their case and next steps.

Relief measures for stranded visitors

This announcement comes in the context of the directives issued earlier by the Ministry of Interior on instructions from the Saudi leadership.

These measures were taken to address the situation of visa holders who were unable to leave the Kingdom due to prevailing regional conditions. As part of this initiative, the authorities have begun rectifying the status of affected individuals across multiple visa categories.

Extension window and exit flexibility

Under the previous directive, visit visas of all types, along with Umrah, transit and final exit visas that expired by February 25, 2026, became eligible for extension.

The visitor’s host can request these extensions via the Absher platform after paying the legally prescribed fees, provided that the window is open until April 18, 2026.Meanwhile, the authorities have allowed an alternative route for those who prefer to leave rather than extend their stay. Eligible visa holders are allowed to depart directly via international exit points without extending their visas, and without paying any late fees or fines.

This provision provides immediate exit while avoiding penalties.

Deadline approach to compliance

The authorities reiterated that all beneficiaries must act before April 18, 2026.Individuals are expected to either complete the extension process through official channels or leave the Kingdom within the permitted time frame. Failure to comply within the deadline will result in applicable regulations being applied against violators. The newly highlighted helpline aims to simplify communication and ensure that affected individuals are able to resolve their queries without any confusion as the deadline approaches.
