Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to his Saudi counterpart and Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday and discussed the war in West Asia that has been going on for more than a month.

Modi said that he stressed during the call that India condemns attacks on energy infrastructure in the West Asia region.
“I spoke with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and discussed the ongoing conflict in West Asia. I reiterated India’s condemnation of attacks on regional energy infrastructure,” Modi wrote in a post on X.

He added that the two leaders agreed on the need to keep shipping lines open.
“We agreed on the need to ensure freedom of navigation and keep shipping lanes open and safe. We thanked him for his continued support for the well-being of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia,” Modi wrote in the post.

This conversation is the latest in a series of multiple phone calls that Modi has had with several world leaders over the past month since the outbreak of war between Iran and the United States, supported by Israel, on February 28.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, March 24, Modi said he received a phone call from US President Donald Trump, and that the two leaders had a “useful exchange of views on the situation in West Asia.”

He added that India supports stopping the escalation and restoring peace as soon as possible, and that ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, safe and accessible is essential for the whole world.
“We agreed to remain in touch regarding efforts to achieve peace and stability,” Modi wrote.
