Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M K Stalin on Saturday released the first list of candidates, naming O Panneerselvam from Budhinayakannur seat and former minister Senthil Balaji from Coimbatore South.

The DMK president announced that his party will contest 164 seats in the 234-seat Tamil Nadu assembly. The Congress will contest 28 seats in the state, while the DMDK has been allotted 10 seats, the VCK 8, and the CPI and CPM will get five seats each.

Prime Minister Stalin has been renominated from his Kolathur seat, while his son and deputy CM Udhayanidhi will contest from Chibok-Triblikane.

Aside from journalism, Majed has a talent for academic writing and loves teaching. He has published a chapter from the book: “Bombay Cinema and Postmodernism” in the book: “A Handbook of Research on Social and Cultural Dynamics in Indian Cinema”. He was also part of the OCEANS network delegation to Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam in 2025.
