Veteran actor James Tolkan, celebrated for his iconic roles in films such as Top Gun, Back to the Future and Miami Vice, has died at the age of 94. The beloved actor, who served in the Korean War before embarking on a prolific acting career that spanned decades, died peacefully at his home in New York. His extensive filmography includes “Serpico” and “The Amityville Horror.”

James Tolkan, best known for his roles in Miami Vice, Top Gun and Back To The Future, has died. The actor was 94 years old at the time of his death and spent many decades working in the entertainment industry.

News of his death was confirmed by TMZ, where the creator of the “Back To The Future” series, Bob Gale, revealed the news. The veteran actor died on Friday at his home in Saranac Lake, New York. No official cause of his death was shared with the public. James Tolkan is survived by his wife, Parmelee Wells.

The actor was born on June 30, 1931 in Calumet, Michigan. In his early years, he completed his education in Arizona before officially enlisting in the army during the Korean War. After leaving the hospital due to a health problem, he returned and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. His acting career started later when he got a role in the movie “The Three Sisters”. After that, he got his next role 3 years later in the movie Stiletto, after which he regularly pursued different roles and projects.

Over the years, he has worked with a lot of other well-known names in the industry and starred in a lot of blockbuster films. Some of his most famous works include “Serpico,” “Family Business,” “Walls of Glass,” “The Amityville Horror,” “Prince of the City,” “Ministry of Vengeance,” “Family Business,” and “Heavens Fall,” to name a few.Caliban’s last appearance on the big screen was in the documentary “Tom Wilson: Humbly Super Famous.” Other than that, his last acting credit in a movie was from 2015, when he appeared in the movie Bone Tomahawk as a pianist. He also worked in many television shows during his career. These films include “Nowhere Man,” “The Pretender,” “Tales from the Crypt,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “The Equalizer,” and “Miami Vice.”
