Noida International Airport Opening Live: A traffic warning has been issued ahead of the opening of Noida International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Warnings will remain in place from 7am to 11pm on Saturday, with arrangements being made to ensure uninterrupted passage for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire services.

Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the first phase of Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh today. The airport has finally opened after several delays and is set to become the second international airport serving the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), after the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

The government said in a statement earlier that the two airports will function as an integrated aviation system that will ease congestion, expand passenger capacity and position Delhi-NCR among the leading global aviation hubs.

The airport will serve as a major international airport for major cities of Uttar Pradesh like Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Mathura and Agra and will also serve as a gateway to many pilgrimage and tourist destinations.

Opening after several delays

The airport was first set to launch on December 1, 2024 but was postponed to April 2025. It was postponed again to September 1, 2025 and then finally to early 2026.

Prime Minister’s schedule for opening the airport

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the first phase of Noida International Airport at 12 noon and then address a public gathering on the occasion. The government has described the airport as the “primary international gateway to the National Capital Region (NCR)”, marking an important step in strengthening the airport infrastructure in the country and enhancing regional and international connectivity.
