LuLu Group Chairman, Yusuf Ali MA, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting uninterrupted food supplies from India to GCC countries amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.Yusuf Ali met Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi on March 26 and briefed him on the group’s efforts to maintain continuity of supply across GCC markets.

In a post on social media platformDiscussions focused on maintaining the availability of staple foods across the Gulf region, as food products of Indian origin are widely consumed by expatriates as well as locals.

The talks also addressed the need to strengthen supply chains and ensure price stability.

Lulu Group said it has facilitated the import of around 15,000 tonnes of perishable and non-perishable food products through chartered flights, cargo ships and scheduled shipping services from multiple locations in India. She added that 34 dedicated charter flights have already been operated, and more are expected.Lulu International Group is an Indian-origin multinational retail and distribution conglomerate, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, founded by Yusuf Ali. It operates a large network of supermarkets, hypermarkets and shopping malls across the Gulf, Asia and other regions, employing more than 65,000 people and ranking among the largest retail chains in the Middle East. The group plays an important role in sourcing Indian food products and distributing them across the Gulf region, making it a key link in the Indian-Gulf food supply chain.
