On the occasion of Ram Navami, Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra has officially announced that the first look of director Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited film will be unveiled on April 2, the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.Amid chatter that the makers will be making Ranbir Kapoor’s official debut as Lord Ram on the Ram Navami festival, Malhotra, in an official statement, put an end to all the rumours, saying, “On April 2, Hanuman Jayanti, we are taking the first step together.”

In a social media post, he shared, “This is a story that belongs to all of us and every step we take has been guided by a deep sense of responsibility, dedication and care to bring our Ramayana to life in its true spirit and scale with utmost sincerity.”
Revealing when fans can look forward to getting their hands on the official material, he said, “We look forward to sharing the next glimpse, Rama, on April 2nd, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as we begin showcasing all these years of our efforts through a grand launch with fans to celebrate this moment, all over the world.”He addressed a word of thanks to all the fans waiting for the film, and concluded by saying: “Thank you for your love, faith, and patience.”
The announcement comes as the game’s makers prepare to launch a massive international promotional campaign, which is said to begin with events in the United States. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.According to Variety reports, Kapoor, Tiwari and Malhotra are expected to attend a media interaction in the US later this month, marking the first major international promotional push for the film. The Ramayana was widely released, believed to be one of the most expensive films ever made in India, and has already created a sensation both in India and globally. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas globally on Diwali 2026 and the second part is scheduled to be released on Diwali 2027.On Ram Navami, director SS Rajamouli and the ‘Varanasi’ team also extended their greetings to the devotees and devotees of Lord Ram, by giving a teaser of their upcoming film. The clip in question showed the epic battle scene of the Ramayana. They shared the post with a note that read: “You will see it in theaters by next Sri Rama Navami.” The film is confirmed to be released on April 7, 2027.
