'Dhurandhar 2' actor Danish Pandur said he was very sad to see the occupancy in theaters declining on the first day due to negative publicity.

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is not only dominating the box office but even online conversations since it hit theaters on March 19. In just one week, the film broke several box office records and continued its remarkable run.

However, just one day before release, he hit an unexpected snag when his paid reviews were canceled due to “technical issues.” This led to many peopleDurandhar 2 movie review Actor Danish Pandor, who plays Uzair Baloch in the film, spoke about an emotional moment from the film’s opening day. He recalled entering an almost empty theatre, seating 40-50 people, amid what he described as widespread “negative publicity”.Commenting on that stage, Danish said in a live interview with ABP: “It’s all about the audience.

I remember the movie was released on Friday after the show was canceled on Thursday. I was completely sad. I couldn’t understand what was happening. I kept thinking: “It’s a great movie, why is this happening?” “Moreover, there has been a lot of negative publicity about it.”He also added, “When the film was finally released on Friday, I went for a 2:30 pm screening. There were barely 40-50 people in the theatre.

I kept wondering, we made a very beautiful movie, and there are no viewers. From 8pm onwards, the comments started pouring in. Suddenly people started watching it and talking about it on social media. It captured it so well that there was no looking back. The truth is that no matter how much negativity surrounds the film, when the audience decides to show their love, no one can stop them.

Despite the shaky start, the film still opened to massive box office numbers.

On day one, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ collected Rs 145 crore (including paid previews), marking the biggest opening ever for a Bollywood release. It maintained the momentum with two consecutive days of Rs 100-crore gross and concluded its first week with Rs 643-crore at the domestic box office. Meanwhile, while talking about the canceled shows, Manoj Desai, owner of Gaiety-Galaxy, criticized the makers of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, Jio Studios for giving KDM late.

For those who don’t know, KDM stands for Turnkey Messaging. It is a small, encrypted XML file that contains the security key required to open and play Digital Cinema Encrypted Package (DCP). KDMs restrict movies to specific, authorized theater servers and, more importantly, to a specific time period, acting as a digital rights management (DRM) tool against piracy.

Therefore, theaters are not allowed to show any film until they get a KDM from the film makers.Desai told ETimes, “They were late and were not accountable to anyone. They made a lot of money from Dhurandhar and yet they did not care about many canceled shows. 2 shows in Gaeity, 2 shows in Galaxy and 2 shows in Maratha Mandir were cancelled. So, a total of 6 shows were canceled in our theatres. Just Akili theater mein nahi. Pure India main 500 theaters in KDM show nahi gaya aur hua cancellation.”
