Rani Mukerji’s series ‘Mardaani’ is back with its third season and will soon be available on OTT platforms. Mardaani 3 was released in theaters in January this year and brings back the star in the role of tough cop Shivani Shivaji Roy.

‘Mardaani 3’ heads to OTT
The OTT platform will release Mardaani 3 for streaming on March 27. On Thursday, Netflix India’s official social media account shared the update with a film still of Rani, with the caption: “Criminals ke bure din shuru. Sherni aa rahi hai shikaar karne (The bad days have begun for criminals). The tigress will come hunting. Watch Mardaani 3, out March 27, on Netflix.”

Upon its release, ‘Mardaani 3’ elicited mixed reactions; Fans showered her with heart emojis.
“Got my viewing for the weekend, kudos to Netflix,” one fan commented. “Awesome,” said another, adding adorable emojis. Critics felt it did not live up to previous entries. “Midway through the second half, seriously, there’s nothing new to offer, just the same kind of social messaging, repetitive, made completely mediocre by a completely disappointing second half,” one Instagram user grumbled.
“Pehle Al Pacino movies ki add karle (first add Al Pacino movies),” someone tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Why am I looking for Priyanka Mohan’s face here?” Another quipped that Rani looks like Priyanka in the poster.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, Mardaani 3 serves as a sequel to 2019’s Mardaani 2. Joining Rani are newcomers Janki Pudiwala and Mallika Prasad. The film revolves around a police officer, Shivani Shivaji Roy, who investigates the terrifying disappearance of 93 young girls in just three months.

Mardaani 3 hit theaters on January 30, collecting Rs 76.20 crore worldwide according to Sacnilk. ‘Mardaani 2’ has grossed Rs 67 crore globally, and Mardaani, the opening film from 2014, has grossed Rs 59.30 crore. It faced mixed reviews upon its debut, and was criticized for lacking the edge of its predecessors.
