Netflix returns to the streets of Shinjuku.

The sequel will move into the world of Hojo’s original creation, with Suzuki once again playing the role of a “cool and goofy” hired broker who navigates Tokyo’s criminal underworld with expert marksmanship and a cool head — until an attractive woman enters the frame.

The first film has been one of Netflix Japan’s most notable local-language success stories of late, offering a witty and honest look at a property that has long been difficult to adapt to live action. The broadcaster also says the production provided a local economic boost to the Japanese city of Kobe through location filming at industrial heritage sites.
