Russia launched a major overnight attack on Ukraine, launching 392 drones and 34 missiles, in one of the largest attacks in recent months, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Tuesday.Regional authorities said at least five people were killed across the country, with air raid sirens sounding throughout the night in almost all regions.
Two deaths were reported in the Poltava region, while Kharkiv, Kherson and Zaporizhia each recorded one death.

In Kharkiv, a 61-year-old train passenger was killed instantly when a drone collided with an electric train early in the morning, prosecutors said. In Kherson, local officials said a civilian died at his home after an airstrike.Moldova’s President Maia Sandu said the attacks also targeted critical infrastructure, with attacks on Ukraine’s power grid cutting off a major electrical link between Moldova and Europe.

In Sumy, a drone strike injured a minibus driver.Meanwhile, Russian authorities said that security services, including the FSB, were placed on high alert amid intelligence warnings of possible sabotage attacks in Ukraine. Moscow also claimed that its air defenses intercepted 55 Ukrainian drones overnight.The latest escalation highlights the intensification of cross-border attacks as the conflict continues, with both sides reporting continued strikes deep into each other’s territory.
